Junior Section Round Up: Sat 7th Oct

Yet another great Saturday morning for the club with 4 wins out 4 on the games we can report the results of.....

We will start with the U18's who finished comfortable 10-1 winners over 3rd place Rotherham Whitehill, they led 4-1 at the break and went on to score another 6 in the second period. They now sit 2nd in league behind leaders Sheffield FC. Scorer's: Caitlin Roberts (4) Leah Hartley (3) Tia Stancil, Hannah Barden & Millie Bethell.

Our U15's travelled to Dronfield and returned with all 3 points and a 7-0 win. Here’s manager Lee South’s account of the game “Game day 5 today and the weather definitely dominated the early stages of the game and it took until the 21 minute for the deadlock to be broken, Millie Simms following up a parried shot from the keeper. The second came on 33 minutes when Kayha Lea Williams did well to squeeze the ball in from a tight angle following some great skill from Delia Hurdiss. With the wind behind the girls another goal came on 51 minutes, Abbie South scoring direct from a corner. Two quick fire goals on 62 and 65 from Jess Sutton and Delia Hurdiss made it 5-0. Millie Simms and Kayha Williams grabbed another goal each on 72 and 80 minutes to make the final score 7-0 to the girls. Top of the league and another clean sheet for the team and Skye with just one goal conceded so far. Only the goal scorers mentioned but some hardworking performances from many others.

The U13’s now sit joint 2nd just a point behind leaders SUFC after playing hosts to Wickersley Youth Blue and after leading 6-0 at half time went on to a comfortable 11-1 win having played some really attractive football. Scorer’s: Lily-May Beevers (4) Alisha Atwood (2) Brooke Betts (2) Madison Wilson (2) & Maisie Langley.

Our U12’s had a tough away game at Sheff Utd, after an even first half that finished 0-0 our girls went on to win 2-1 and gain a valuable 3 points that also means our girls stay top of the table 3 points clear of 2nd place. Scorer of both goals was Mollie Stephenson.

The fixtures involving our mini soccer teams were all great games with good team work, lots of positives and smiling faces and progress being made week on week. The U11’s were at home to Barnsley, our U10’s were away at Worksop Town and last but not least a great game involving the U9’s and Sheffield Utd at Bawtry Road.

No games this week for the U14’s and U16’s but well done to all our teams and remember although we report the scorers football is a team game and there were lots of great performances from all the players. #oneteam
