Junior Section Update: Saturday 30th September

A great end to September with 7 of our 9 junior teams in action and of the results we can report it was 5 wins out of 6.

As usual we cannot report the U9's scoreline but they travelled to Rotherham to face Greasborough Youth and enjoyed a great game between the two teams. The girls have started the season very brightly and both them and their parents seem to enjoying their Saturday mornings. No league games for the U10's and U11's this week but the U11's did play a friendly.

Its now 4 wins out of 4 and top of the league still for our U12's who this week played hosts to Crosspool juniors. The game finished 9-0 after being 6-0 at half time. Scorer's: Millie Stephenson (3) Aaliyah Whitworth (3) Ella Shaw & Ella Williamson plus an OG (photo below shows girls jumping for joy plus one player mysteriously floating on the far right!!!)

Our U13's played away at Chesterfield and after a tough game came home with all 3 points and a 2-0 win. Scorer's: Lily-May Beevers & McKenzie Scott.

The U14's had a very tough game against Barnsley away and had to come from behind to take a 3-2 lead into half time. There were no more goals in the 2nd half with the full time score 3-2 and all 3 points brought back to Sheffield. The girls are also 100% so far and sit joint top of the league. Scorer's: Sadie-Rae Austin, Abbygayle Hodkin & Neve Renwick.

Our U15's hosted Chesterfield and led 4-0 at the break before netting twice more in the 2nd half for a final score of 6-0, 3 points and another of our teams still top of the league with a 100% record.

The U16's are playing catch up having only played two league games so far this season (won both). They faced Rotherham Whitehill at Bawtry road and were 2-0 down at the break before they decided to wake up and put 4 past RUFC for a final score of 4-2. Scorer's: Katrina Bennett, Olivia Mellor (2) & Daisy Parry (penalty-see video of how to take a penalty below)

Finally the only defeat of the day fell surprisingly to our U18's who lost out in a close encounter to Sheffield FC 5-4 after leading 3-2 at the break. Scorer's: Hannah Barden, Megan Jones, Sarah Marshall & Caitlin Roberts.

Well done everyone and keep enjoying your football. #oneteam
