Sheffield Wednesday WFC are delighted to announce that they have appointed Adam Smallman as their new manager, as they seek a quick return to the Premier League
Adam has an extensive footballing CV, which spans the last 14 years; he has a wide range of coaching certification, as well as being an FA-registered coach and scout.
Based in Staffordshire, he has largely worked with Midlands teams but has a great knowledge of all top sides. He has been an assistant manager at a men’s semi-pro side, Hednesford Town and has scouted for four football league sides, as well as managing Walsall LFC.
SWWFC chairman Jeff Maslin commented; “We have been extremely fortunate that Adam has decided to join us. Adam went through an extensive interview process that he passed with flying colours.
"Due to the instability of last season, we had to appoint someone who is in this for the long run and push us towards our ultimate goal of an immediate return to the Northern Premiership. He has already spoken to all our current squad to discuss next season, as well as putting together a super pre-season timetable. We believe we have appointed the right person to do this job and welcome him into the Owls nest”.
Smallman said; "To be appointed 1st team manager at a club like Sheffield Wednesday, is a very proud moment for me and I cannot wait to get started. Jeff (Maslin) and Dan (Duke) sold the club to me when we met and I hope to return the good days back to the club as soon as possible".
